Description

even the
blind
could see through
your
delusions of grandeur

A min-magnet poem befitting of those people who tell tall tales and know it, but rarely, if ever, admit to it. To all the lies and liars that only add to the unnecessary fake-ness that plagues society these days.

Unfortunately, I've had the displeasure of meeting people like this. Of being toyed with like doll by them, too. Some people just don't know when to quit.

And this background-- I was browsing through my collection for one, and once I saw this one, I thought it was just perfect. The black spot in the middle makes me think of like a bullet hole, and somehow I feel like that works really well with this poem's theme. :D And then the placing of the light green and the "smear" black just worked out with the words. And the overall green color, at least to me, works very well because one of the main reasons people lie can be tied to envy. They envy someone for having something they want; they lie to get it. They want something they don't have, and to them, it doesn't matter how much yarn-spinning, truth-bending, hyperbole, or exaggeration they have to use to get it.

Also, one little tid-bit that kinda just works out for me; "delusions of grandeur," is a line in Defying Gravity, one of my favorite songs, from the musical Wicked, which is sung by Elphaba, or the wicked witch, and her primary colors are green and black...you get it. ;)

Just---I love it when a mini-magnet poem and a background work so well together. :happybounce:
